The GATE exam, or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, is an examination conducted annually for admissions to postgraduate programs (Masters and Doctoral) in Indian institutes like IITs and IISc, as well as for recruitment in various public sector undertakings (PSUs). Subjects Covered: GATE covers a wide range of subjects in engineering and science disciplines, including Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and many others. Exam Format: It is a computer-based test (CBT) consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and numerical answer type (NAT) questions. The exam duration is usually 3 hours. Score Validity: The GATE score is valid for three years from the date of announcement of the results. Use of GATE Score: Besides postgraduate admissions, many PSUs and other government organizations use GATE scores for recruitment purposes. International Application: GATE is also conducted in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and the United Arab Emirates.
