Full form of RTI
Full form of RTI is Right to Information.
RTI is the fundamental right of every Indian Citizen under the Article 19(1) of constitution and act was made on 15 June, 2005 by the legislation of Parliament. On 12th October 2005, the Act then came into execution and implemented to provide the information to Indian Citizens.
The RTI act helps the Indian citizens to audit the government work by asking them in order to provide documents, files etc.
Functions of RTI
The RTI act is applied to all union territories and also for the states of India except the state J&K (Jammu and Kashmir). After the take back of the article 370 of Indian Constitution, the Union Territory of Ladakh and the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir are came under the central Act.
It acts as effective framework to get the information and the Act provide help for promoting accountability and transparency in government departments or institutes.
The RTI Act mainly aims to remove the unawareness of the rights which are possessed by the citizens of countries.
It is aimed at validating the responsibility and transparency in the government agencies, departments or any institutions of the nation.
Due to the lack of awareness, most of people like, villagers, workers, farmers, women and children are stay away from taking their rights.
