i) First Full form of PSU

Full form of PSU is Public Sector Undertaking.

PSUs are government based corporations in India. To undertake commercial projects under its own banner, the government created and governed it. For making more profits and more focused towards developing the country and improving the economy of nation, these government-owned corporations are less worried.

In PSUs, the majority of the company equity (51% or more) is acquired by the state government or the central government or else partly by both the governments.

All PSUs are audited by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. The CAG has the authority for appointing the Auditor and lead him to follow the audit process in right manner and also to audit the PSU accounts.

Types of PSUs

PSUs can be categorized in three parts, and which are:

  1. Central Public Sector Enterprises – CPSEs
  2. Public Sector Enterprises – PSEs
  3. Public Sector Banks – PSBs

ii) Second Full form of PSU

The second full form of PSU is Power Supply Unit.

PSU is hardware component of the computer. The optimum power is supplied by it to the internal parts of the computer.

The high voltage Alternating Current (AC) is converted into low voltage Direct Current (DC) by PSU, and it is safe for the internal parts of the computer.

For protecting the computer from high voltage fluctuations, PSU can also regulates the voltage.
