Full form of EWS is Economically Weaker Section.

EWS refers to those households or citizens who has the income below the certain level. There are other economic factors which determines economic weakness of household or citizen, income is dominant criterion. In public policy, the term recognized in the Preamble to India’s Constitution which looks for political, economic and social justice.

For Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of general category people, the central government has introduced 10% reservation quota.

Eligibility criteria for EWS

To become eligible for EWS Reservation.

  • The family income of household/citizen should be less than Rs. 8lakh per annum
  • The candidates who are not covered under the SC, ST, OBC categories
  • Less than 1000 sq. ft. area needed for Residential flat
  • Residential plot area should be less than 100 or 200 sq. yards.
  • It should be less than 5 acres for agricultural land

  • Property or Land related documents
  • Domicile certificate
  • Residential proof
  • ID proof
  • Aadhaar card
  • Affidavit form

How to apply for EWS Certificate

The individual can apply for EWS certificate through Online/Offline.

The applicant need to get the certification form from the nearby MeeSeva office, to fill the form in offline mode.
