Full form of CID
Full form of CID is Crime Investigation Department.
The headquarter of CID is in Pune(India). CID is an Investigation and Intelligence panel of the Indian State Police.
It is the unit in police organization and is led by Additional Director General of Police(ADGP). CID investigates that cases which are handled by the Gov. of India and Director General of Police(DGP).
In 1902, It was developed by the British government to maintain the order and law in the country, regarding of police commission. The officers of this department are usually remains in their regular clothes. They are also known as CID officers or Detectives.

The work of CID
The work of CID is to investigate the criminal cases like, theft, murder etc. and they gather evidences for criminal cases and catches criminals and represent the evidence in the court. CID can take the help from local police to solve the cases.

Eligibility Criteria for CID
The Applicant must be Indian Citizen
The education qualification required for CID is Graduate from any recognized university to join CID as a sub-inspector or officer
The minimum qualification required is 12th or higher secondary certification to join CID
The applicants have to clear the civil services examinations which held by Union Public Service Commission
To join CID, the applicant should have sharp eye, excellent memory, character judgment, ability to work in team At least two years of experience as uniformed officer
